Morven Solar Farm

Community Engagement

Community feedback on the proposed Morven Solar Farm is an essential part of every phase of the lifecycle of the Project.

Recent community engagement

As part of the EIS phase of development, the team undertook a range of consultation activities in late June.

Thank you to all those who attended our community drop-in sessions at the Gerogery Commemoration Hall on Thursday 26 June and the Culcairn Memorial Hall on Friday 27 June.

These sessions were an opportunity for the team to provide more information on the planning and approvals process, the technical assessments currently being prepared and future community engagement opportunities.

Our conversations with attendees also provided valuable insights into key areas of local interest, and this feedback will help to shape the design of the Project and Community Benefit Fund.

We look forward to being back in the community and continuing these important conversations.

Community survey

To inform the preparation of the Social Impact Assessment and the development of a community benefit sharing framework, we encourage you to complete the Project survey. Feedback from the host community is an important part of the development of the Project.

What we have heard so far

From the engagement and studies in the Scoping phase, we are working to avoid, minimise and offset issues that stakeholders have highlighted including:

  • Avoiding impacts on existing significant biodiversity and riparian ecosystems
  • Minimising visual impacts particularly for near neighbours and the view from Jobsons Road, including setbacks and landscaping
  • Focusing on solar panel design and project layout specifically to allow continued sheep grazing/agricultural activities on the project site
  • Incorporating feedback around site access and transport concerns related to Jobsons Road and Coach Road
